Day 6 was a whirlwind of festivities. A barbie with friends, turned into a beer-hall event, with kids bringing the sandpit inside, and a menu BigCat will hopefully approve of. In the spirit of the festival that Is Blogtoberfest, we enjoyed:
Bratwurst
Coleslaw (Aussie version of saurkraut..)
Beers
and
Potato Salad.
Although there were no Lederhosen in sight, the ambience was certainly as German as we could muster, with two Celts, one convict-descendent, and some Welsh in the mix.
The day drooled on, with my girlfriend Shan and I going interstate for 3 hours of Spotlight - where my attempts at being restrained were quashed by my stash-building-desires...
Camera-less, post-purchase, I lost my bag of goodies somewhere in the chaos that is Spotlight. Bloody buggery bollocks - not happy Jan, etc.
Is your local Spotty chaotic too? Shan and I realised we've never been in an organised one! Adelaide, Queanbeyan, Sydney, Melbourne (both Box Hill and Bayswater), all in our experience messy and disorganised. We still love them though - what about you? (I know some who live in their local! ;-)
My lace is sadly neglected, however tonight is the night for some lace building, and I will post pics tomorrow of metres of completed lace (or a couple of rows of mistakes - much unpicked...)
Enjoy your day -

Yep...mine is a nightmare too! It was even worse a few years ago when they had a tiny pokey store. I found some really cool chook fabric in the remnants bin last time and on my travels around the shop, I happened to drop it. I tried to find it again amongst all the mess but it was impossible!
I go to a brand spanking new Spotlight in Essendon. It's very sparkly and spacious. However, the one near my place is grungy and cluttered and horrible, being the reason I go to the sparkly one.
I'm most impressed with your Blogtoberfestivities. Sounds like heaps of fun.
Oh no - I can't imagine the disappointment of losing goodies in Spotlight. At least when I lose a bag of goodies in the chaos that I call home, I know they will turn up again .... eventually.
I think somewhere in the brief for Spotlight merchandising are the words "dog's breakfast". Box Hill and Bayswater are my "locals" and equally shambolic. It doesn't stop any of us though does it?!
Love reading your blog, you always make me laugh and brighten up my day! I can just picture you in spotlight building up your stash! Have to catch up soon and introduce you to ms 12 pounds!
that's utterly disappointing!
But that aside, it sounds like a marvellous day.
