OMG that house is amazing. Ok so I don't have the best salad recipe but I do have the best salad dressing recipe (although everyone probably knows it my mum thinks it's her special secret), not anymore I guess.
5 tbs olive oil
1 tbs balsamic vinegar
1 tbs lemon juice
1 tbs honey
1 tbs seeded mustard
Put it all in a jar and shake, shake, shake. Pour over all types of salads or dip some crusty bread in it. Don't refrigerate

Local lurker delurking here thanks to the lure of a competition :)

My all time favourite salad has baby spinach, roasted sweet potato cubes, lebanese cucumber and sliced ripe peaches in it with a balsamic dressing. Mmmmm, summer salads...

What a super dooper fabulous terrific giveaway! Now as I don't eat salad or veg, my recipe is not going to be very good, but I have found a way to make myself a salad that I can actually eat without wanting to vomit.
First I make a garlic and yoghurt sauce just using a small tub of greek yoghurt and a couple of teaspoons of minced garlic. Then all I do is take nice ripe tomatoes, some lettuce, and some cucumber and I cut them all up really really small. Smother the whole lot with the yoghurt sauce and then the salad is edible!

I just popped over to see what you were up to and you're having a giveaway! It's a great way to meet people isn't it?

I'm feeling completely depleted of salad recipes though! Unprepared...the only salad we have made this season has been our lazy daisy quick bbq/kid friendly variety. I shred lettuce, grate cheddar cheese, carrot and add corn kernels. It takes four minutes. Then I dust it with tomato wedges and voila! OH and the kids have to eat the lettuce because it's all 'coleslawed' into the rest of the things they love! Cheers - Jen

What an awesome giveaway!
My salad recipe is for tuna nicoise salad, it is so tasty and filling enough for lunch!
So get some mixed salad leaves, halved cherry tomatoes, and sliced mushrooms. Bung that all in!
Then get a boiled egg. I love to slice mine with the egg slicer!
And then you get a tin of tuna and drain it and chuck that in as well.
Mix equal parts olive oil and balsamic vinegar for the dressing.
Yummo!
I hope you enjoy!
(I would like to be considered for the sewing bits and bobs. Thanks again Button Beauty for a lovely giveaway!)

I am always up to a challenge so here goes. This is one of my favourite salads to eat.

FRESH SPINACH SALAD WITH STRAWBERRIES.

Make the dressing up and keep refridgerated until ready to serve the salad.
Do Not Pour On Greens Until You Are Ready To Serve.

Salad Ingredients:
1 Pound Fresh Spinach Washed & Torn Into Pieces.
1 Pint Strawberries
1/2 Cup Slivered Almonds, Toasted.

Sesame-Poppyseed Dressing
1/4 Cup Sugar
2 Teaspoon Sesame Seeds
1 Teaspoon Poppy Seeds
1/4 Teaspoon Worchestershire Sauce
1 1/2 Teaspoon Chopped Onion
1/4 Teaspoon Paprika
1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil (I have substituted this with extra virgin olive oil with no problem)
1/4 Cup Cider Vinegar

Combine dressing ingredients in blender until smooth.
You may keep in fridge overnight if required. Shake really well before using.
Pour over salad ingredients just before serving and toss.

ok this is for the doll house and this the best salad ever and it's simple- the amounts are up to you so arrange to taste - rocket salad leaves - feta (crumbled) - pine nuts (sprinkled in whole) - Roast pumbkin (yes it must be roasted and cooled then torn into little peices and thrown in) and a basamic dressing any type will do and toss together thats it, yum

Hi Jess,
Found your site via curlypops and thought I'd pop in for a visit.
(and enter your comp whilst here).I would pick choice 1, the sewing things. The dolls house is very cute, but I haven't got a lot of space here :(

Salad recipe: Farfalle salad with sundried tomatoes and spinach. It is nice to serve at a barbeque.

Ingredients:500g farfalle pasta (looks like little bow ties), 3 spring onions, 60g sun-dried tomatoes (cut into strips), 500g baby english spinach,4 tablespoons toasted pine nuts, 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano, I also add bocconcini cheese (the small ones).

Dressing: 1/4 cup macadamia oil, 1 teaspoon chopped fresh chilli, 1 clove garlic, crushed, salt and pepper.

Method:
Cook pasta, drain and rinse under cold water. transfer to a salad bowl.
Trim the spring onions and chop finely. Add to the pasta with the tomatoes, spinach, pine nuts, bocconcini and oregano.
To make the dressing:
Combine the oil, chilli, garlic, salt and pepper in a small screw-top jar and shake until well combined. Pour the dressing over the top of the salad, toss well and serve immediately. Voila, she is done!
I hope you like my recipe.
Cheers,
Sandi

My fave salad is a bit of a no brainer but it's soooo yummy!

toss baby spinach leaves and baby rocket together (or for the easy option, buy it premixed) add some chopped up feta, cucumber and capsicum. Then throw a small tub of sundried tomatoes and olives in with the juice to dress it.

Oh and I would love some sewing odds and bobs.

Thankyou for hosting this givaway

I found your blog through Curlypops (loving Blogtober as I am finding some great blogs). I'd love to enter for the sewing bibs and bobs.

My favourite salad recipe (and it must be good as every time we have a family do, mum asks me to bring this salad!) is 120g baby rocket, 100g semi-dried tomatos, 80g roasted pine nuts. Dress with mixture of 1tbs balsamic vinegar and 1tbs olive oil. Sprinkle with shaved parmesan and enjoy!!!

This is a bit of an indulgence salad but it has lots of veges so it counts as a salad in my book!

Beans with asparagus -
4 rashers bacon, chopped finely
2 Bunches asparagus, trimmed
200g green beans, trimmed
150g sugar snap peas or snow peas, trimmed
1 punnet cherry tomatoes, halved
1/3 cup flaked almonds, lightly toasted
1/4 cup olive oil
finely grated zest of one lemon

Heat nonstick pan and fry bacon until crisp.
Meanwhile blanch green vegetables for 1 minute in a large pan of simmering water. Drain and transfer to bowl of iced water. Drain well.
Cook asparagus mixture with tomatoes in frying pan used for bacon for 1-2 minutes. Add bacon and almonds, drizzle with combined oil and zest. Voila!

My favourite salad is simple. I get one of those neat little bags of baby salad greens from the supermarket and throw in a few cherry tomatoes and whatever else I have in the way of salad veges. Toss them together with a little homemade vinagrette!

Yum

i would go for the sewing bits . . .

salad - well - lots of veggies in this, so maybe it counts?

summer salsa
start with a cup of salsa (you choose mild, medium, or hot)
add a can of black beans, drained and rinsed
add a can of corn, drained
add a peeled, diced avacado
add fresh lime zest and fresh squeezed lime juice to taste
serve with corn chips of your choice
enjoy

The sewing what-nots sound very exciting!

I'm afraid my recipe is a bit of a rip-off of Bellgirl's. Its a nice crunchy dish, which unfortunately we can no longer eat here because the youngest member of the household is not allowed to consume sesame and nut products. Rats.

Noodle salad ...

Shred 1 Chinese cabbage finely and add 6 chopped shallots. Mix together with 100g packaged fried noodles. Combine 1/4 cup white vinegar, 1/4 cup caster sugar, 2 tbs soy sauce, 2 tsp sesame oil and 1/4 cup peanut oil. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add the dressing (at the last minute, so the noodles stay crunchy) and toss.

I used to have the schoolhouse that goes with that house when I was a kid! But since I have no kids of my own, sewing items seem to be more my thing.

Anyway, my favoritest salad of all time isa variation on the typical spinach salad. I don't have any measurements, it's basically to taste...
Baby spinach
hearts of romaine
Blue cheese crumbles
candied pecans (you can use your favorite nut, pecans are mine)
mandarin oranges
raspberry vinaigrette.

Just toss it all together and dive in. Yum!

Alright, wasn't going to enter because I'm already up for PIF .... but

500gms cooked spiral pasta (large)
Red onion sliced
Sundried Tomatos (about 3/4-1cup cut in half)
Feta cheese cubed (200gms)
toss together with:

1/4 marinade of sundried toms & lots of chopped (not crushed) garlic (3-4 single cloves)

Toss in some pine nuts.

As you can tell, I'm not really one for accurate measurements, go by taste to suit really!

I'd love some sewing bits .... if I get drawn!
