Miss 2 and The Pinny

Little Miss 2 (actually not 2 for another 2 months...) refuses to wear bibs, is attracted to all water (amazing how much water she can find even in this dryness), and gets filthy. Eating sand doesn't help either.

So in an experimental moment on the weekend, I decided to try the age-old pinny over the clothes. Maybe it was the vintage illustrations I'd been sourcing, the cherubic cheeks, golden curls, and pretty frocks resonating in my brain.

So with some Spotlight spots from the stash, some bobbly trim, my staple white ric rac, and loads of binding.....

Here is my cherub, cleaning the windows (really!), with the pinny, the curls, and the cheeks! I ADORE this image, and just HAD to share.

I was thrilled with the comments it attracted, and have decided that there are many more of these I can make for her, and others!

Heart, heart, heart

lovely work on pinny...those spots and bobbly trim are special. As for the curls-too cute!

That's gorgeous! Did you use a pattern? I reckon my 3.5 year old still needs one...

This is gorgeous and so is she! I have to say though, for your mental health Jess you HAVE to stop saying that you can't sew and all of that other rubbish. You know that negative self-talk is damaging. Not only can you sew (you really can!) but you have the courage to try new things and you work it out even if you don't have a clue. This blog is awesome. Be nice to yourself - you deserve it! :)
