One of my closest and most wonderful friends is about to embark on a quilting journey, so I made her a pincushion. It was kind of cute, so I made one for another friend, and for me, and then couldn't stop...
The aforementioned friend's middle child turns 2 today (Happy Birthday Megan Moo), so I made her a tea towel apron (finished pic didn't work) ....
Miss 2's pal Ollie turns 2 soon so he's getting a Bug (he needs 2 more legs and a face) ....
And I have been sewing for a Toy Shop here in Canberra, making kid-sized table cloths, napkins, tea-towels, oven mitts, and gloves, and have been having lots of fun with that. I hope they sell!!!
Mr 5 needed some garden shorts, and so we made a pair with bugs all over them for exploring ...
On the bug theme, I love the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Add this to my button fetish, and you get these gifts for Harry and Penny.....
And another singlet, this one for Mardi Gras next month for a friend's bub....
A friend mentioned that in addition to the table cloth sets, a very Montessori idea would be placemats that showed how to set the table, so.....
And I wonder why the ironing, dishes, and weeds are all stacking up!? Where does all my time go?
Oh well! Off to buy 30 metres of ric rac!

Oh my goodness...great minds think alike. I've been playing around with an idea for the past few weeks making children's aprons they can use to help them set the table. You can check them out on my blog (a few posts ago) and I was thinking of making some matching placemats with cutlery on them as you've done. Yours look fabulous. And what a great idea!!!
Thanks Ainslie - us 34 yr-old Librans need to stick together! I am a novice sewer, so look for shortcuts, hence the aprons from a tea-towel. Freedom have 100% cotton ones for $1.95 in bright colours so I start there! Love your blog - we don't have Ikea here so I am jealous!
