Image from here.Am I the last person to try and make these?
There is a very good reason for me not doing a craft that relies on the oven. Simply that I forget things. Bath is running. An hour later - the hall is flooded. The sprinkler's on. Five hours later, the garden is knee-deep (years ago, pre-drought!!!!)
So when there are clouds of toxic smoke in the kitchen, and you throw open windows and doors to let fresh air in and search frantically for the source of the smell.....
Remember you were melting an LP.....
For the uninitiated, I have since been told 10 mins at 100 degrees C is sufficient, NOT 40 mins in a fan forced oven at 220 degrees C. Really!

OMG lucky the oven didn't catch fire! It must have been really stinky though.
Oh my goodness!!! I'm sorry, I know that this could almost have been totally not funny at all. But the contrast between those two photos has got me giggling hysterically. If I ever try to melt records in the oven I will remember your advice.... :P
Bahah, I am glad I am not the only one to forget things in the oven. Or things full stop! I successfully burnt not one but two batches of choc chip cookies this week. They're sitting in the pantry, uneaten. I wonder why.
Try the LP again, iwant to see your results!
omg- that's some serious baking! Good luck for next time... if there's a next time!! ;o)
