I have once again taken over the dining table with piles of works in progress. This in itself is not unusual, but it has me thinking back over the fourteen years that Mr Button Beauty and I have had the table...In years gone by, the table would seat eight adults spaciously for dinner parties in our inner-city first-floor apartment. Its Art Deco style was magnificent. The linen was white, the glasses plentiful and the wine selection broad. We loved entertaining so much! I was the eponymous Dinner Party Dame!

Now, we don't eat at the table very often... If the Janome and the fabric and the spools and bobbins and scissors and rotary cutters and accessories had another home, then maybe there would be somewhere for the vegemite sandwiches and cups of milk to reside...
However now I am doing hand-made Christmas for the eight nieces and nephews, and have fabric pieces everywhere. I have decided to also do handmade for friends' kids, so have extended the mess appropriately.
I really should just get on with it and the table will be cleared in no time! Sewing day on the weekend methinks!

Haha! I have to laugh as you've described my table and me at the moment!!! I managed to clear it down yesterday ..... but the sewing machine still sits on one corner and the chair behind it is covered in half-completed Christmas gifts!
Love the pics you've posted.
Oh yes, I'm planning some crafting on the weekend for sure.
Lovely photos you've shared with us.
Just the other day, we lost our dining table yet again to my crafting. Every now and then I try to move back into my workroom, but it doesn't take long until my craftiness takes over again.
That's exactly how my kitchen is at the moment (I'm currently relegated to eating meals on the couch)....you've inspired me to post some pics tomorrow!
That tablecloth is a riot! How funny!
Our dining table hasn't been seen for some time either. It also seats 8 ... but I am thinking of pulling out the leaves at both ends, so that it accomodates 12 (WIPs, not people!).
We never eat at the table anymore, it's always covered with stuff or sewing projects ! ahahah
hahaha my kitchen table hasn't seen anything kitcheny ever! Apart from mugs of tea and hot chocolate.
