Lisa has posted a birthday memory/tribute to her Granny and has inspired me to post a pic of my Nan.
Nell the style icon of the 1930s and 1940s. Her shoe collection was amazing, her knitting something to aspire to, her love of the AFL (VFL) unwavering. Too many special memories to record, but I smile when I see her photos.
This one was taken by my Pa. Nan was about 21 we think.
A beautiful lady.
Thanks for the inspiration Lisa.

i love these old photos! So beautiful. I have a lovely one of my grandmother, who I never met, standing by some big old chimney in wartime London. It's just so evocative, as is yours.
I don't have any pictures of any of my grandparents in their younger years, more's the pity. The earliest is of my mother's parents at mum's wedding. I would love to know what they looked like as young adults.
She's lovely - her floral dress looks great and I do love those wiker chairs....
That's a lovely photo & gorgeous memories of your Nan.
She looks so strong and serene. I will have to dig out a photo of my Gran and post it. Thanks for passing on the inspiration.
What a great photo and a lovely tribute!
